Well let us look back in life when we was younger. It's up to you to go as far back as you like. As you think back on your youth, what are the things you liked doing the most? Can you remember at all? Where are the places you enjoyed going the most? Just think back on these things and it will help give you some insight.
If you can remember, why did you dislike a certain teacher and disliked a certain person in school? What subject was this teacher teaching? This person that you so disliked; was he/she smart? did he/she dress well? Think patiently! What was the reason why you disliked individuals that did nothing but be themselves?
Now that we have looked on the dislike side, let us take a turn on the like side. We are still thinking back as far as you want too. There was some folks in our life that we just adored, admired and they was our idol.
Let us start by taking one of these persons at a time and figure out what was the reason for liking each one. What were they doing? How did they dress? what was there occupation, etc... "Why did you like this person so much?"
Whether we want to believe it or not, the reason we disliked a person is because of our inner being and we dislike something about our own self. The reason we liked a person is because it is what we desire to be and do in our own life time. Our dislikes can be a hinder to our present life if we don't deal with them as we grow older in life which causes us to feel out of place and uncertain about life.
When I was in Highs School, my idol was Oprah Winfrey. I never really didn't dislike anyone because I was just an all around kind of girl and there was nothing really I could not do and the things I could not do, I was willing to learn and learn from anyone that could teach me how.
Oprah Winfrey was everything I dreamed of being. She was the first black woman I saw in the Readers Digest. I cut her picture out and paste it on my wall. I was to be another Oprah Winfrey! Of course in my life travels I've had some ups and I've had some downs. I always seemed to capture good jobs like: Timmonsville Police Department as Dispatcher, City County Complex as Secretary, Mortgage Finance Companies, Aluminum Ladder Company as Supervisor, Mailing Company as Lead Person, sewing plants, truck stops as manager, etc..., my own night club, my own restaurant, my own thrift store and now I'm the founder of Dubs Etc Inc a Non-Profit Organization providing computer systems to the disabled and disadvantaged individuals nationwide. Also the founder of The Network Members Only a Community Outreach Ministry.
I did TV commercials and Radio Spots. My soul mission now is to go to Africa and minister to those that are in need of clothes etc.... and to operate a business over there to continue to support my cause and mission for the needy. I'm no Oprah Winfrey, but I've done something in my life because of her. I still have dreams and I do feel I belong and that there is more! All of my gifts and talents are given to me by God. I was unable to go to college and trade in anything. My gifts and knowledge come from above.
So if you feel out of place and not belonging, you need to go back to those likes and dislikes as a child, fine yourself and begin working with your likes and work on your inner being dislikes and move forward. You do belong. Where is the key!
This is definitely good prep talk and encouragement for self discovery. Thanks D
